In this 2 session class we will talk about what even is gauge and how do I find it? We will knit a gauge swatch and talk about some solutions to common problems when trying to achieve gauge.
In our first session we will cast on and knit our gauge swatch. In the intervening week you will block your swatch, and in the final class we will discuss the solutions to some common problems when trying to get gauge. If your swatch was successful, we can cast on in this class as well. If it was not, you will cast on for a second swatch making any adjustments needed.
If you have a project in mind that you would like to knit the swatch for, this is a great class to do that in. If you do not have a project in mind we will be knitting a gauge swatch for the Flax by Tin Can Knits.
This is excellent preparation for the Sweaters class
